Confirmation is a progression from Baptism.
In Baptism parents and godparents promise to bring a child up in the Christian faith.
Confirmation is where the individual confirms his/her faith in God.
After a short consultation with the Priest-in-charge a simple ceremony in church completes the Confirmation.
After Confirmation the taking of bread and wine is practised, representing the body and blood of Jesus, as he first did at the Last Supper with his Disciples.
Confirmation is a personal affirmation of faith and is usually taken any time after the age of about eleven, although there are no strict rules.
