Twelve months after our journey into the unknown the solar panels are fitted and working at Omboloka School.
The panels may not look very big but they provide enough power to light the school and other ancilliary uses such as charging mobile phones.
This is a giant leap forward in our aim to establish a long term link with both School and Church.
On behalf of the community of Omboloka a very big thank you is extended to all who have contributed, no matter what the size of your contribution
The Journey
All did not run smoothly on the outbound trip, which started on the Tuesday morning.
On arriving at the airport in London there was a 15 hour flight delay. This had a knock on effect for the rest of the journey- missing 2 nights pre-planned accommodation, and much needed sleep.
Our aim was to ensure that we were able to attend the Church service on Sunday morning, as we were told that there would be a large gathering.
That meant 2 days driving all in one go, shared between 3 drivers- 15 hours in total.

Eventually we arrived late Saturday evening to a warm welcome and food- when all we really wanted to do was sleep.
To top all that Father Phillipus told Sharon that she was going to preach at the morning service!!
The Church was overflowing and the service lasted THREE hours................. No pictures here, sorry, this was a time for shared worship and prayer.
Some of the local people who came to Church
We met a number of new people on this second visit and were given a very warm welcome by all.
It was good to see familiar faces from last time and hear that the "snail mail" we sent actually arrived.
